Life Rings Installed: Town of Long Beach Lakefront

Life Rings Installed: Town of Long Beach Lakefront

Dear Long Beach Residents:

The Town of Long Beach has partnered with the Duneland Health Council and was the recipient of a grant that provided for the purchase of “Life Ring Cabinets” along our lakefront. Each of the fourteen (14) Beach Stops along Lakeshore Drive have been supplied with a ABS plastic Life Ring cabinet that contains a throwable personal floatation device and 100 feet of rope attached to each safety device. This very important Life Safety initiative is to provide the necessary safety devices to keep our residents and the many visitors each year safe while using our lakefront. At each Beach Stop you will find the Life Ring Cabinet has been labeled with the corresponding beach stop number to assist the caller when calling 911 to request emergency responders. We ask our community members to assist us in maintaining the cabinets and reporting any unfortunate misuse or vandalism to the Police Department immediately at 219-874-4243. Thank you again to the Duneland Health Council and their Executive Board for their continued support of the Long Beach community and the Long Beach Police Department.

Yours in Public Service:

Mark J. Swistek
