Security Reminder

Theft Prevention
Theft of items in vehicle

Greetings, as we prepare to enjoy the summer we often get in a hurry running errands and trying to get so much done at once. It is times like that when we forget to lock our vehicle. We would like to remind everyone to keep their vehicles locked at all times. Regardless if you are at home and your vehicle is in the driveway, it only takes a minute for someone to reach in and take your valuables. Listed below are a few friendly reminders to prevent you from becoming a victim. Have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather.    Yours in public serivce,  Chief Mark Swistek

  • Never leave valuables inside your vehicle. Keep items stored inside your vehicle out of sight or in the trunk.
  • Take your keys out and never leave them in your vehicle.
  • Close all windows and lock all doors.
  • Never leave computers, handguns, credit cards/debit cards, cash or your wallet or purse inside of your vehicle overnight.
  • Park in well-lit areas with good visibility or inside a garage if possible. Install outside lights with motion sensors near where you park your vehicle.
  • Get in the routine of double-checking that your vehicle is locked and secure each night before dusk. The majority of vehicle entries occur after dark.
